Our Online Patron Registration Tool, powered by Patron Point, is live! This tool allows patrons to apply online for a full-access library card.
We have updated our documentation and have an orientation recording available:
Around 8:00 each morning, we will send a report of patrons who received a card via Patron Point to the generic e-mail addresses for all public libraries (XXX@notices.swanlibraries.net). We encourage you to keep an eye on these reports to ensure that profiles are being made according to your specifications.
Since our last update, we've made some fixes to the Patron Point tool that we'd like to highlight:
- Care/Of: Registering of minors should now properly populate the "CARE/OF" field in address information with the parent/guardian's name.
- Age Gates: We can now prohibit people (particularly minors) who do not meet an age requirement from registering for a card through the form. A parent/guardian will still be able to submit the form, but if the child does not meet the age requirement, the application should be rejected. These can be set at a per-library level.
- "Uppering": Patron names and addresses should now appear in all capital letters in the profiles created by Patron Point.
- "Already Has a Card" e-mail: Previously, the e-mail sent to patrons who already had a card at a SWAN library would include the home library where that card was registered. This variable was bugged and was instead telling the patron the library service area they currently live in. We've updated the e-mail to remove this information in favor of a generic message. We hope to be able to fix this soon.
