Acquisitions EDI Processing Errors

Open

We have had several EDI reports stalling recently. We had another EDI report stall today. We were able to see the report today was stalled because it was not able to login to the Ingram server.

We have suspended all EDI File Retrieval and EDI File Transmission reports until we are able to resolve the issue.

Updates

Date Description

We are experiencing an sporadic issue with reports for libraries that have been able to update their credentials and unsuspend their reports. While some reports finish without issue, they may stall the next time they are run. We are attempting to work with Ingram regarding this issue as it appears this is something to do with their server not responding to our login. We are also working with SirsiDynix to fix the bug that is stalling the report when it does not get a response from Ingram's server.

We have worked with most of you and have been able to unsuspend your EDI reports. If you received your updated credentials but haven't yet tested with us please update your existing ticket regarding your Ingram credentials. If you do not have an existing ticket you should create one to schedule your testing. If you have not yet received your updated credentials from Ingram please contact them.

It has been reported Ingram has not been timely with getting new credentials out once libraries contact them. Be sure to reach out to Ingram even if you have updated your vendor records for sFPT prior to this issue. It appears they updated credentials for all of their customers. You can connect with your peers on the SWAN Community Forums thread about your experience with Ingram.

It is important to coordinate with us prior to unsuspending or running your EDI reports. We need to make sure we are monitoring the reports and available to stop them if they stall while running. Two SWAN libraries have received their updated credentials and successfully modified their vendor records. We worked with them to test their EDI reports; those tests were successful.

The issue we have been observing is due to Ingram resetting passwords for their sFTP site. You need to contact Ingram for your updated credentials. All EDI reports will remain suspended until you have updated your Ingram vendor records with the updated information you receive from Ingram. Please open a ticket when you have updated your vendor records and we will work with you to test your reports prior to un-suspending them.

Use the following information provided by Ingram to receive your updated credentials:

As part of a recent internal audit, our Security Team is implementing an unplanned password update to the sFTP passwords used to transmit EDI orders and upload MARC records. We understand that advanced notice is preferred, and we thank you for your patience in this instance. Going forward, this process will occur more regularly as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting your data and strengthening system security.
