Aspen 25.10 Release

Submitted by Tara Wood on

The Aspen 25.10 release is live. This release includes the following fixes and enhancements.

Better sorting for periodicals

Aspen now sorts periodical copies by location, shelf location, and date (based on the call number).

Improvements to series pages

There are several improvements to series pages.

  • Records with no volume information will appear at the bottom of a series page.
  • Only records scoped to your catalog will appear in the series pages - this means you will no longer see e-content and library of things items that aren't available to your patrons in the series page.

In addition, there are now some additional tools for SWAN staff to clean up series pages.

New filters for lists

Lists now include filters for format and additional sorting options, including publication date, availability, call number, and number of available copies on shelf. These new options will give you a few more options for creating list-based browse categories.

Changes to barcode display in LiDA

Some users may be prompted to view their barcode in landscape mode on their device, depending on the size of the device. This is to ensure that barcodes will not be cut off and properly scan at checkout.

Enhancements to evaluate

Display change for placing holds on a specific edition

This release includes a potential interface change, which would prompt patrons to select a specific edition when they place a hold. The Discovery & User Experience Working Group will review this feature at their next meeting and discuss if we should enable it.

Custom sort order for e-content formats

We now have the options to use a custom sort for e-content formats (for example, Libby could appear above Hoopla). This would apply at the consortium level and further input from the membership is needed.
