The Aspen 25.11 release is live. This release includes the following fixes and enhancements.
Automatically applied filters
Aspen now has the ability to automatically apply filters for certain searches. For example, a search for "new dvds" could apply filters for publication date and a format of "DVD".
This feature is not yet enabled on production. SWAN is carefully testing and will work with the Discovery & User Experience and Cataloging working groups to refine our settings before implementing on your catalogs.
Formats in the mobile web view
On smaller screens, formats will display more prominently. They previously were collapsed to a list, and we received feedback they were hard to locate. Note: The app format view remains the same, this change only affects the web version of the catalog on mobile devices and small screens.
List groups
Library staff and patrons can now organize their lists into list groups. This can be helpful if you have many lists. We have updated lists documentation on how to use this new feature.
Record grouping tools
SWAN staff and catalogers from SWAN's Cataloging libraries are able to perform manual grouping of records within Aspen. Previously, this was limited to merging two record groups into one. A new feature in this toolbox is the ability to move an individual record from one group to another. For more information on how this is done, please see our updated Grouped Records in Aspen documentation.
Error messages in the app
LiDA and the SWAN Libraries + app now has more descriptive error messages. This will help in troubleshooting any issues reported.
