Concluded: Routine Database Maintenance Scheduled Over Thanksgiving

The re-indexing processes have finished without errors. Our system is currently catching up with today’s reports. Our standard, nightly maintenance reports will run on schedule this evening. Staff should be all set for tomorrow morning.


Tonight's Database maintenance concluded just prior to 8PM Thursday. At this time, this morning's regularly scheduled reports are catching up. We'll be sending an all-clear shortly.


Database maintenance has begun at 9:30PM, Wednesday 11/26. We will update this post once maintenance has concluded.


Please be aware that routine database re-indexing will take place over the Thanksgiving holiday this week.

To ensure the reliability and integrity of our Symphony database, the Headings index needs to be rewritten. Our maintenance window will begin after libraries close Wednesday evening and we expect this window to conclude Thursday evening. This process takes upwards of 24 hours, but due to the holiday, we don't anticipate this process to cause downtime for library staff. 

Throughout the duration of maintenance, WorkFlows will be inaccessible. Our Aspen catalog will remain online, but My Account features will be briefly unavailable at the start of the maintenance window. Once maintenance has concluded, we will notify the membership via SWANcom and an update on this post.
