Next month, we will be migrating our BLUEcloud Analytics platform to a Private Intelligence Server. Our current Analytics platform is shared with other SirsiDynix customers, so some features are locked down. Moving to a SWAN-exclusive environment will allow us to manage and monitor the Analytics workspace with more control and insight.
What This Means for You
The Environment
The new environment will look the same as the old one at first. Your reports and scheduled delivery will all come over unchanged, and navigation will be familiar. There is nothing new to learn.
Scheduled reports will migrate without interruption. In the event that a scheduled report does not arrive, send in a ticket and we will manually run it for you.
The URL
However, the old URLs you use to access Analytics will no longer function. There will be no redirect, so you will need to update any bookmarks to use the new URL.
The new URL will be: https://swan-bca.bc.sirsidynix.net/bcanalytics/asp/Main.aspx
This URL will not function until the migration is complete on May 12th. You may see a log-in page and even be able to get inside, but you will not find any data or reports.
Updating Bookmarks
To update bookmarks, you need only replace the beginning of the URL. Wherever you find this:
https://noam-bca-2.bc.sirsidynix.net/....
Change to this:
https://swan-bca.bc.sirsidynix.net/...
Timeline
The migration will take place over the course of 2 days in May, and both servers will work in parallel for one week. After that, the old server will be retired and inaccessible. Here are the dates to know:
- May 11th - Freeze on new report creation. Anything created starting on this day will not migrate to the new server.
- May 11th-12th - Migration takes place. The existing BLUEcloud Analytics server will still function at this time.
- May 13th-19th - The old server will remain active while SWAN performs an inspection of the new environment. We encourage everyone to update bookmarks and start using the new server during this time. Any new reports created on the old server will be lost when it shuts down.
- May 19th - Retirement of the old server. Old bookmarks will break, and log-in will no longer be possible.
- The Future - After migration, SWAN staff will begin exploring the new management features. This may coincide with some reorganization of the environment, changes to users, and other updates. We will keep you updated as this develops.
