The Aspen 26.04 release is live. It includes the following features and fixes, and the Palace Project is now integrated into Aspen!
Note: Aspen indexes are running long following this release, we expect they will catch up by this afternoon.
Palace Project integration
The Palace Project integration within the Aspen library catalog and SWAN Libraries+ mobile app brings the eRead Illinois digital collection directly into the catalog for patrons to discover alongside existing holdings.
When a patron checks out a title, Aspen will provide instructions guiding them to the Palace Project app to read or listen to their borrowed content. Please note that full indexing of the eRead Illinois collection is expected to be completed by end of day, so some titles may not yet appear in search results until then.
The catalog now includes a "Skip to main content" when using the Tab key to navigate, and very nice accessibility improvement.
Advanced search filter improvements
Previously, filters in Advanced Search only showed the top 30 values. You'll now see a More options... to select and search additional filter values.
Additional updates
- Users can now update a frozen hold reactivation date, without having to unfreeze and refreeze the hold
- Reports for placards usage appears in System Reports > Usage Dashboard, though the display is challenging to navigate - you may find it easier to use the Patron Use Report
- Library staff can now transfer lists to other library staff accounts; lists cannot be transferred between patron accounts.
- Library staff can optionally add a List Author Name if you'd prefer public, searchable lists to display a different name than that configured for your staff account; most staff accounts use the library name and is the best option to display in your lists and list filters.
