The Aspen 26.05 release is live. It includes the following features and fixes.
Language filter improvements
The language filter now applies only to primary language, instead of all languages.
Previously, a search for movies limited to "French" as a language would return all movies with a French subtitle or dub available ( over 13,000 results). Now the same search will return only movies with a primary language of French (less than 2000 results). This more closely matches what patrons and staff expect when using the language filter.
Holidays and special hours configuration
You can now set up partial day openings and closings in addition to your holiday closings. These are reflected in the app (under More > My Library) and in the web catalog (Library Hours and Locations from the menu). You can view the Library Systems ocumentation for more about configuration.
Manage purchase suggestions by title
Libraries using the Aspen Purchase Suggestion system can now manage requests by title and bulk update multiple requests made for the same title.
Customize saved search emails
Aspen administrators can now customize the text for saved search emails that go out to patrons when new titles appear in their saved searches. SWAN staff need to complete some configuration and documentation before this feature is available - we plan to have that ready Monday, June 1st.
Scan-and-go updates for Symphony
Updates to the self check settings for Symphony will allow our pilot of scan-and-go, the self check function in the app, to resume with our pilot libraries.
